THE COVE IDENTITY / PATTERNS

A familiar shape.
A different rhythm.

Eleven patterns for the things we wear, give, and make. From quiet microprints to an occasional Oddmind hidden in the repeat.

Editable SVG tiles. Every colorway. All three lettering studies.

01 / THE ORIGINAL

Cove Drift

Rotated Cove shapes and occasional violet accents. Scale it down for fabric or up for wrapping paper and backgrounds.

Cove Drift / original pattern tile

01 / EDITABLE REPEAT TILE

Cove Drift / original

Original staggered Cove repeat with quarter-turn rotations and violet dots. Scale the entire tile down for a golf microprint or up for gift wrap and backgrounds.

02 / THE QUIETER PATTERNS

A closer look

Tonal marks, a fine lattice, and Hidden Cove microdots. Keep the original quiet versions or choose the stronger cream and gray colorways.

Aperture Lattice / quiet stone pattern tile

03 / EDITABLE REPEAT TILE

Aperture Lattice / quiet stone

Clean vector interpretation of the interlocking D-aperture lattice from the mockups. Aperture curves are adapted to square cells and rotated in four directions; all four repeat edges are periodic.

Hidden Cove / original lavender pattern tile

04 / EDITABLE REPEAT TILE

Hidden Cove / original lavender

Original subtle lavender golf microdot. Six Cove marks replace six of 64 dots; keep this quieter version alongside the stronger versions.

03 / GIFT WRAP

Aperture Lattice

Interlocking curves in cream and taupe or ink and violet.

Aperture Lattice / cream + taupe gift wrap pattern tile

07 / EDITABLE REPEAT TILE

Aperture Lattice / cream + taupe gift wrap

Clean vector interpretation of the interlocking D-aperture lattice from the mockups. Aperture curves are adapted to square cells and rotated in four directions; all four repeat edges are periodic.

Aperture Lattice / ink + violet gift wrap pattern tile

08 / EDITABLE REPEAT TILE

Aperture Lattice / ink + violet gift wrap

Clean vector interpretation of the interlocking D-aperture lattice from the mockups. Aperture curves are adapted to square cells and rotated in four directions; all four repeat edges are periodic.

04 / LETTERS IN THE PATTERN

An occasional Oddmind

Three lettering studies, from spaced crossword discoveries to letters replacing individual symbols on the same grid.

Cove crossword / first spaced study pattern tile

09 / EDITABLE REPEAT TILE

Cove crossword / first spaced study

First crossword exploration: smaller horizontal and vertical DDMIND runs. Preserved as an alternate; it intentionally interrupts the staggered field.

Cove crossword / bold two-direction study pattern tile

10 / EDITABLE REPEAT TILE

Cove crossword / bold two-direction study

Intermediate bold lettering study with horizontal and vertical runs. Preserves the original staggered field outside the letter runs; alternative to the strict cell substitution version.

Cove / strict one-cell letter substitution pattern tile

11 / ONE SYMBOL, ONE LETTER

Cove / strict one-cell letter substitution

Final approved construction: six letters replace six symbols one for one on the same 9 × 12 grid. No dots. One horizontal ODDMIND discovery per 108 motif positions; the Cove provides the O.

Use the SVG tile

Each tile is editable vector artwork with no fonts or embedded images. Repeat it at its exact width and height, with no gaps. Scale the entire tile uniformly to change the pattern size.

Check the repeat

Each preview shows a three-by-three repeat. Physical sizes in the files are starting points; match the scale and placement to the garment, paper, or surface.

Make a print proof

These clean vector reconstructions use the original Cove artwork. The lattice regularizes the concept into repeating cells. Confirm colors, bleed, and a physical proof with your printer.

The full library includes SVG tiles, repeat previews, PNG previews, original concept images, source logo artwork, and color and scale notes. Earlier lettering studies are retained as alternatives.
